A DC-rated breaker uses a different arc-quenching design to an AC one. DC current never crosses zero, so the arc does not self-extinguish — an AC breaker used on a DC circuit will weld itself closed or burn out.
Use this on individual PV strings. Observe the polarity marking on the body; DC breakers are directional.
